Many people think that winning the lottery is all about luck. While luck does play a huge part in winning, there are also strategies that players can use to increase their chances and walk home with more money than you started out with.
Even if you don’t win the jackpot, you should be trying to break even or at least make a few bucks. The following are strategies that have been proven effective for winning the lottery.
A lotto pool is one of the easiest winning lotto strategies that increases your chances of winning. Essentially, a lotto pool is a group of people (as few as 2, as many as you want) that chip in on tickets and then split the winnings if one person wins. Lotto pools have won the jackpot in both 1997 and 1998.
The latter group won 45.6 million dollars, which was split between seventeen people. There are both pros and cons to playing in a lotto pool, and it is up to you to decide which one outweighs the other. The main pro is that lotto pool members win more frequently than individual players, but the main con is that you have to split your winnings between each member. However, 45.6 million split 17 ways is still a lot of money.
The “Wheeling” System
One of the best winning lottery strategies, the wheeling system is used successfully by many lotto players across the country. A wheeling system is essentially using math to arrange numbers into multiple combinations that then give partial or full coverage of all the possible combinations. If at least one of the winning numbers is included in your selection, you are guaranteed to win something!
All in all, wheeling systems increase your chances of winning dramatically. Learning a wheeling system can be difficult to learn, but are surprisingly easy to master. If you have a basic knowledge of math and statistics, you can start running a wheeling system tomorrow and be guaranteed to win something. If you are in a lotto pool and use a wheeling system, the chances of winning go up even higher.
Check Up On Your Tickets
This is so much simpler than the other two winning lotto strategies, but you’d be surprised how many tickets go unchecked for years before the player finds out he has won big! The unfortunate reality, though, is that lotto tickets do expire, and then you don’t get any money at all… even if you’ve won the jackpot. In 2001, 40-year-old Melvin Milligan was watching the news when he saw a report that 2000’s 46 million dollar jackpot had gone unclaimed by the person who had won it.
On a whim, Milligan took his old ticket (which was being kept in a junk drawer!) to the local gas station and ran the numbers. And, amazingly, he had won! He mailed the validation ticket to lottery officials, and the ticket arrived at the lotto headquarters two days after the deadline. If not for the postmark on the envelope, that 46 million dollars would have been lost forever.
